Welcome! We take pride in inviting you to be part of the great world of the circus supported by the Circus Fans Association of America. As fans and friends of the circus, we come from all walks of life; in fact some of our members previously were or currently are center-ring stars or circus owners. Our organization is for those who love the circus and we support it as one of the few family activities now available. You have heard the statement "Take a child to a circus." To us, circus is an everyday happening somewhere in the USA. The cornerstone of our beginnings goes back to 1926; the goal even then was to preserve the circus for future generations and to have fun enjoying our hobby.
You found us on the web and should also take time to show your family and friends our new youth-based web site, www.circus4youth.org, which is designed for the young members of our organization and dedicated to the many youth-based circuses and camps around the United States.
A personal goal is to always be there for a circus and assist in whatever they need while in town. Sometimes this means helping them find feed for animals, ice for the concession stand, or maybe a doctor for an employee who has a dental problem. This may also mean that at times we support them with issues ranging in the area of animal welfare and care as it relates to legislation and pressures against the circus.
When you join us and that is easy (just click on the left and complete the application form), we will invite you to participate in local and national activities. On the national level, we meet once per year in cities rotated between the regions of the United States. Active local clubs, which we call tents and tops, help circuses on a regular basis within their community, sponsor activities with circuses to better educate the public, and enjoy the socialization of each other. Through meetings, speakers and simply attending circuses as a group, CFA is a hobby-based organization whose main goal is to have fun seeing and assisting circuses and enjoying the company of fellow members.
The CFA has a magazine, published six times a year, called White Tops. Our magazine updates us about national and international circuses, activities of tents and tops, current and past performers, and other news of interest in the circus world.
So you are just a click away to joining and if you have any questions, please email me at circusvern@aol.com.
Welcome to the great world of the circus and we hope you will join the Circus Fans Association of America.
