This report covers the period from the 2009 Las Vegas Convention to the Grand
Rapids Convention in 2010. Membership of the committee was made up of myself
(Jack T. Painter) and Niles Calhoun. Also contributing in a major way was Maxine
House as a much appreciated undefined participant (consultant? - whatever).
BLF activities for the year were concentrated in the final months when an
article was placed in White Tops bringing attention to requests for
contributions of money and nominations for "scholarships". The
Secretary-Treasurer of CFA receives all funds and accounts for their
distribution in her annual Treasurer's report.
One nomination for a scholarship to attend the Grand Rapids convention was
received. This nomination of Julius Carallo was approved by the committee. The
Chairman contacted the nominee and he accepted. The Chairman then arranged
payment for the nominee's expenses and will submit a documented account to the
Secretary-Treasurer for reimbursement. A listing of these expenses is attached
to this report.
The Chairman has been in conversation with the CFA President-Elect (Maxine
House) about the need to renew, revamp, and reorganize the Committee perhaps
going back to its original make-up requirements including a definite rotation
The Chairman wishes to express his thanks to Niles and Maxine for their major
contributions to this year's activities of the Committee.
Jack T. Painter, Chair
