Funding for the HICCUP CIRCUS has been provided by a wide range of organizations including:-
the Hawaii Community Foundation, the D.O.E., the Federal Drug Free Program, the YWCA Community Youth Activity Program, McInerny, Freer Eleemosynary, Julia Temple, HEI, Helco, GTE Hawaiian Tel, the Wilcox Foundation. O.H.A., the State Foundation Culture and the Arts, Atherton Family Foundation, George N. Wilcox Trust and the George P & Ida Tenney Castle Trust, the County of Hawaii dept. of Parks and Recreations, Pahoa Mainstreet Association, Friends of the State Libraries, Hawaiian Trust Company, Honolulu-Pacific Federal Executive Board, Joan R. McAlpin Charitable Trust, Shipman, Bank of Hawaii, Foodland, Sure Save, the Movie Museum, the Village Green Society, Meadow Gold Dairies and Jacunski Tree Service.
Community support for HICCUP has been established through our provision of services to 52 State of Hawaii Elementary Schools, 13 State Libraries, the D.O.E., the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, local Theaters and the many civic organizations, for whom we have performed benefit shows over many years, including the American Lung Association, The Federation of the Blind, the Merrie Monarch Festival, the American Cancer Society, Churches, the YWCA, YMCA and the County department of Parks and Recreation etc.
The Mission of the Hiccup Circus is to promote the healthy development of children and the community through the time honored skills of the circus. We offer educational services to the public at large with emphasis on Elementary and Intermediate school age children and teenagers especially in under-served isolated rural communities. Our methodology for developing and implementing programs is through partnerships with other educational, civic and charitable organizations.
