The Nov/Dec issue of The White Tops mailed Dec 1.

The Jan/Feb issue has the following deadlines:
Jan 8 - Articles and advertising
Jan 12 - News and Tanbark
Jan 17 - Files to printer

Some notes:

1 - From David Orr: Presently looking for pictures in color of John Herriott and Buckles Woodcock. It is important that only John and Buckles are in the picture. Permission to publish is important. Contact: Forepaugh-Lubin 2007 CFA Convention Host Tent No. 2 - May 21st - 25th <dpowhitetiger@aol.com>.

2 - From Craig Altschul: Looking for news, stories and articles on West Coast circus activity. Contact Craig at <caltschul@earthlink.net>.

3 - From Gary Payne: Gary and his committee are looking for new CFA members. The Nov/Dec White Tops has an article on the "Line in the sand". The new mini-application is on the wrapper. Consider giving a CFA membership to a friend as a holiday gift.

4 - Maxine House is doing a story on the Vasquez Circus. If you have any pictures or accounts, please send them to Maxine or White Tops.

5 - This is the "arena season" with many small circus units performing in schools, recreation centers, and fair grounds in colder areas. Please send in stories and pictures on these shows.

6 - Several "new" circuses have been formed including Clyde Beatty, some version of Kelly-Miller, and some kind of ownership change at Cole. If you have any information, please send it along. We have been in contact with the Beatty folks but Hugo has been very quiet. There is a lot going on at Ringling, too, but little is settled or public.

7 - We are expanding our horizons a little. The Nov-Dec issue has a story by Bro. Francis Dolphin on a circus in Bolivia. Ed Limbach has stories coming up on circus in Australia after his recent trip there. We are looking for articles with pictures of the Mexican circuses now coming north as far as Chicago and New York. If you have seen any Mexican or circuses outside the U.S., please write them up as a news item or article.

8 - Many youth circuses are getting underway. If you have one in your area, consider covering it for White Tops.

9 - One shift in emphasis at White Tops is from history (we saw a circus) to previews (what you can see at this circus). Please plan on getting to shows as early as possible in their route so all CFA members can read about a show before it comes to their area.

PS: Have a happy holiday & great new year.
