Today December 11, 2007 Paul Sermons has given permission for the 2007 CFA Hershey Convention to view "THE FIRST of MAY" feature movie.

2007 CFA Convention PRESS RELEASE:
August 2005 Florida Governor's Office Governor appoints Paul Sirmons Florida's Film Commissioner. Today December 11, 2007 Paul Sermons has given permission for the 2007 CFA Hershey Convention to view "THE FIRST of MAY" feature movie staring Julie Harris, Charles Nelson Riley, Joe DiMaggio with Mickey Rooney as Boss Ed. Produced and Directed by Paul Sirmons. With a cast of Clyde Beatty - Cole Bros. performers and animals.
Circus scenes using Beatty half-round-one end of the big top with a side open to sunshine-was rigged filmed at Beatty-Cole winter quarters. Featuring Khris Allen, Flying Lunas, Gloria Bales horses, Zamperlas and many more circuses performers. Reports are that John Pugh himself suggested , the title "First of May." Before becoming an independent filmmaker Mr. Sirmons worked as an assistant director on critically projects series as Quantum Leap, Sea Quest, Falcon Crest, The Waltons and Our House. He also worked behind the scenes for the Disney Orlando and Universal Studios Florida.
Florida- made feature The First of May, has been shown on HBO and Cinemax. Refer to Jan/Feb 1998 White Tops for Miles R. McCarry article and picture of First of May. Gary Payne, Movie Chairman will schedule this GREAT Convention Event. Just another 2007 CFA Convention Activity.
