Showfolks Tent President Shirley Adams opened the season at the Showfolks Club in Sarasota, FL on Wednesday evening October 5, 2005. The tent season runs from October through May with monthly tent meetings. (See the events section of the CFA Web Site)

Adams                                              Horne

A large crowd gathered for the Showfolks Tent 122 for the opening of this year’s run. After a short business meeting, Bob Horne gave the group an update on the restoration of the former Ringling private railroad car "Jomar". An original window was recently found in a former Ringling horse barn, and was given to Bob. In addition, a recent article in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune about the project has produced several other artifacts from the car.

Kathy/Clark Beurlen                         Rudy/Beverly Rudynoff

Clark and Kathy Beurlen had the honor of introducing the evening’s speakers, Rudy and Beverly Rudynoff (Gebhardt) of the Rudynoff Ballerina Horses. Rudy and Beverly spoke of their lives and adventures in the business, and their lives after leaving the road. They put together a presentation of many pictures from their personal collection which were on display at the tent meeting.

The evening ended with refreshments and a huge raffle of circus items donated to raise money for the tent.

The next meeting of Showfolks Tent #122 is Wednesday November 2, 2005 at the Showfolks Club, 5204 Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota
