Report from Cheryl Deptula in May/June 2003 issue of The White Tops.
Dear Members and Friends:
The most important issue at this time is to remember to pay your dues promptly. Dues notices were mailed the last week of April 1 to all current CFA members and cover the period of May 1, 2003 through April 30, 2004. Your new membership card was enclosed which includes your name and CFA number. This mailing is a costly project to CFA so your immediate response will certainly be appreciated so that a second notice will not be needed.
I am sure you have noticed the listing of new members in each issue of The White Tops. Please take it upon yourself to invite these new members to your Tent and/or Top activities and make them feel welcome; include an invitation to the CFA Convention.
Speaking of conventions; have you made your reservation for the 2003 Convention in West Springfield, Massachusetts? I’m sure this will be an event to remember.
Have you visited the new CFA Website yet? www.circusfans.org will provide you with current events and circus information you never knew existed.
Thank you to those who responded to my request for a listing of current officers for the active Tops and Tents. This information should be sent to the CFA Secretary each time you have a change in officers so that there is a master listing available at all times. Please let me hear from you on a regular basis. I will print a current roster of active tents in the next issue of The White Tops so make sure you are represented with up-to-date information.
We are always saddened to hear of a members death, but the recent passing of Don Marcks, editor and founder of Circus Report will sorely be missed. We have lost a dedicated friend and fan of the circus.
I would appreciate receiving information on any CFA member currently serving in the armed forces so that they can be recognized. We are proud of our troops!
